A Note About the Information I Share
Walking With Dementia is based on my lived experience of supporting people with dementia in their own homes, together with continued learning, reading and conversations with caregivers and professionals.
The information I share is intended to help families better understand everyday life with dementia, explore practical approaches at home and know where they may need further support.
Walking With Dementia does not provide medical advice or diagnosis and is not a substitute for assessment or advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Memory problems, confusion, changes in behaviour and other symptoms can have many different causes. If you are concerned about new or worsening symptoms, please seek appropriate medical advice.
The practical ideas and experiences I share should also be considered in the context of the individual. Dementia affects people differently, and something that helps one person or family may not be appropriate for another.
If there is an immediate concern about someone's health or safety, please contact the appropriate emergency or healthcare service.
My role is to share experience, help families make sense of everyday situations, and signpost towards further help when appropriate — not to replace medical or professional care.
